Mysuru, February 11:- Counting of votes of the by-elections to Ward 18 of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) was held on Tuesday. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate B V Ravindra emerged victorious in the election.
The counting of votes was held at Sanskrit Pathashala on Sayyaji Rao Road here. The strong room was opened at 8 am and the counting began. Result was announced within an hour of counting. Twenty officials held counting of votes on a single table. 150 cops were on duty for the counting of votes. Agents of all the party candidates were present during the counting. They were provided with identity cards. Among 11,877 voters, only 5,625 voters (44.33%) cast votes.
BV Ravindra of BJP received 2,555 votes, Congress candidate R Ravindra Kumar secured 2,452 votes. Janata Dal (Secular) candidate received 182 votes and 72 people voted for NOTA.
