Mysuru, September 3:- The district administration has taken a decision to introduce several events to attract tourists to Mysuru during Dasara. BMX cycling and Motocross events will be organised for the first time in Mysuru this year.
As tourism has received a major setback due to floods in Kodagu District and Kerala, the administration has thought that it would adversely affect the visitors to Mysuru as well. Therefore, the district administration has decided to introduce other events to attract tourists in large numbers.
What is BMX?
Stunts on bicycles are called BMX which include jumping cycles over humps, increasing speeds and other thrilling stunts. The event will be held at a makeshift stage at Mysuru Palace premises. Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar said that experts in BMX will be called for the event.
He said that the event is completely eco-friendly and is free from any sort of pollution. He promised to take all the necessary safety measures during the event.
“Expert bikers will be part of Motocross. These activities will satisfy the tourists who come to Mysuru for Dasara. We have already contacted several adventure clubs. We will finalise the clubs for the event,” he added. (MR/KS).
