Bomb Naga and his sons arrested in TN

Prime News, State (Bengaluru):- Police on Thursday arrested V Nagaraj alias Bomb Naga and his sons Shastry and Gandhi at Arcot village in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, said a top cop in Bengaluru. The police are expected to produce Nagaraj and his sons in the court on Friday.
“The police team from Bengaluru, headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ravi Kumar, arrested Nagaraj and his sons after chasing their vehicle,’’ Additional Commissioner of Police, Hemant Nimbalkar said.
Nagaraj and his sons were on the run since April 14 when the police raided his residence at Srirampura in Bengaluru west. The police have seized Rs 14.80 crore demonetized currency notes from his residence.
“The city civil court has issued an arrest warrant against Nagaraj. We had formed four special teams to nab Nagaraj and his two sons. The police team visited Arcot village after receiving a tip off about Nagaraj and his sons,’’ Nimbalkar said.
Nagaraj got elected to Bengaluru City Corporation as an independent candidate from Prakashnagar ward in Bengaluru west in 2002.
The former corporator had released a video on April 22, accusing police of foisting false cases against him and feigned ignorance about the demonetised currency notes seized from his residence.
He has also released a video on May 10, expressing willingness to surrender before Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara.
“The police team is bringing him to Bengaluru. Details will be given later,’’ the Additional Commissioner of Police said. (Agencies).
