CM Bommai, ministers and officials lack proper coordination: Cong leader M Lakshman

Law and order situation has collapsed under BJP govt in Karnataka, says Lakshman

Prime News, Karnataka, Politics, Mysuru, August 26:- There is no proper coordination among the ministers and government officials, charged Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesman M Lakshman here on Thursday (August 26).

Talking to reporters at Indira Congress Bhavan on JLB Road here, he said, “On the alleged rape of a college girl in Mysuru, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said something in New Delhi. Mysuru Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta’s version is they will be probing the case based on the victim’s friend. There is no clarity as such.”

He said, “Does it mean Bommai has no coordination with Home Minister Araga Jnanendra and District In-charge Minister S T Somashekar?”

Lakshman said, “Mysuru is one of the most sought-after tourist places in the world. Around 20 lakh tourists come to Mysuru in a year. If such incidents keep happening, people will be scared to come to Mysuru and tourism will be affected with a bad image to the heritage city. Minister Somashekar is there for nothing.”

The Congress leader said, “Law and order situation has collapsed. After Bharatiya Janata Party came to power, Bengaluru is witnessing murders and robberies regularly.  Mysuru seems to be the victim now. In the last two days, we have seen three crimes in the city. The city that was known for peace is not safe anymore and the credit should go to the ruling party.”

Lakshman said, “BJP leaders used to talk a lot when Congress was at the Centre. Why are they not saying anything now? Our party will be staging a protest in the coming days to get justice for the victim. BJP Mayor Sunana Palanetra has also not bothered to issue a statement.”

Congress city president R Murthy and former MLA M K Somashekar were present. (MR/GK)
