Mysuru, March 11:- Book ‘Akasha Mallige’ authored by Champa Shivanna, wife of senior journalist late M R Shivanna was released by writer Dr Doddarange Gowda at a function held at the Institution of Engineers (India) Hall on JLB Road here on Saturday, organised under the joint auspices of Bharata Kannada Parishat and Likhit Publications.
The programme was organised to mark the 65th birth anniversary of MR Shivanna.
“Whatever may be the language, the words of literature are same. Words and meanings remain the same. Champa Shivanna has given a rangoli of flowers in this poetry collection,” he said.
“Nowadays love has lost its meaning. Its being sold and brought. It is unfortunate that love is not treated as love. There are no poems these days on elders and relationship. Here Champa Shivanna has written poetries on all these aspects,” he added.
Singer Shashidhar Kote sang a poetry from the collection on the occasion.
Senior writer Prof K Bhyravamurthy, Dr S Shivarajappa of the Department of Archeology, UoM; writer M Chandrashekhar, Dr E C Ningaraj Gowda, Champa Shivanna and others were present. (MN, NGB)
