In an incident reported from the city, a boy decided to call it quits the year-long relationship with Facebook and deactivated his account after he left untagged in any of the friendship posts shared by his FB friends on Friendship Day.
Bhopesh, the boy in his 20s, was disappointed to the core as despite having hundreds of friends in his FB list, no one wished and tagged him in any posts. “This is very depressing to know you have been ignored to such extent. Not a single friend from my list of 2,456 friends tagged me in any of their Friendship Day posts let alone wishing me through personal message. I spent last four days downloading Friendship Day quotes and tagged almost all. But what I got in return is only disappointment,” said Bhopesh.
After the traditional friendship band was replaced by FB posts tags, Bhopesh was very excited that he would be wished at least on FB. “So far, no one has tied a friendship band on my hand. But it has seen grow many bhai-behen relationships with every beautiful girl tying Rakhi on it. FB was my last hope and here too they got crushed into bits and pieces,” he said.
Bhopesh was also excited about FB friendship post tags because he could tag any girl, who normally may not accept your friendship band in reality. Bhopesh added he was disappointed to see girls blocking him for tagging them in his posts.
Bhopesh got irked and decided to deactivate his FB account when a few of his friends who frequently used to tag him in ‘I got Iphone 6 at Rs 499 at Amazon flash sale’, ‘Pen drive at Rs 1’ and so on posts, ignored him and instead tagged girls from his account. “People have time to tag me on every shit they post. I happily allowed it on my timeline hoping one day they will tag me in friendship day posts too. But these assholes did not. I am not able to understand whether to cry or laugh on myself for allowing their shit on my timeline,” he wailed.
“Why do I have many friends, but still feel lonely?” Bhopesh reportedly posted this query on Quora to which he got no response.
