State BJP President and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa campaigned for the BJP party candidate M V Ravishankar who is contesting for the MLC seat from South Graduates Constituency on Thursday.
Addressing the BJP party workers meeting at Sharada Vilas Centenary hall on Thursday, Yedyurappa urged the party workers to strive for the party candidate’s victory in the elections as it would be an indicator for the party’s projection in the 2018 Assembly elections.
He said, “I am confident that the party will capture over 150 seats in the 2018 polls and will also win all the four Legislative council seats in which elections will be held next month.”
He alleged that the state government had failed to solve issues faced by farmers and stated that although the central government had released Rs 1,520 crores for drought-hit relief works in the state, the funds were not distributed to farmers who suffered losses. The state government under the leadership of Siddaramaiah is not honest about utilisation of the funds sanctioned by the centre for drought relief,” he said.
‘The atmosphere in South Graduates’ Constituency is in favour of our party and hence, party workers must strive hard and work to teach the chief minister a lesson in his home town,” he added.
Former minister Shobha Karandlaje, MP Pratap Simha, MLC Candidate M V Ravishankar, former minister S A Ramadas, former MP Vijayshankar and others were present.
