Brahmins’ Convention: Campaign vehicle flagged off in Mysuru

Mysuru, November 30:- Bellur Shivaram, president of mega Brahmins’ Convention to be held at Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram on Mysuru-Ooty Road here on December 15 and 16, flagged off the campaign vehicle of the event at Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram on Friday.

The vehicle will campaign for the event in taluk city areas of Mysuru District for 15 days.

“Mysuru is hosting a Brahmins Convention in the district after 14 years. The event aims at exhibiting the unity in the community. Women, youths, priests, teachers, chefs and other professionals will attend the convention. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will take part in the event. We will request him for Gayatri Bhavan and other demands. The community requires support from the government. Talented students will be given scholarships and students can apply for it at the office of the association,” he said.

Working president of the event Krishnadas Puranik hoped that the event will lead to the united development of the community.

Seer Elai Alvar of Vengipura Mutt, Srikanta Kumar of Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha, Gopal Rao, D N Krishnamurthy, Shankar Narayan and others were present. (MR/KS)
