BRICS Summit: Security tightened in China’s Xiamen city

The high-profile leaders who are landing at Xiamen Gaoqi international airport, southeast China’s coastal Fujian province can notice that there is an important event in the offing.

Banners of the Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa related to the BRICS economic bloc summit are already fluttering in the hallways of the Xiamen Gaoqi international airport in southeast China’s coastal Fujian province.

The red banners carry the message, “Welcome to BRICS summit” both in English and Chinese. Xiamen is a tourist resort on the southeast coast of China, is known for its mild climate and beautiful scenery. It is one of the four international shipping centers in China.

The 9th BRICS summit would be held under the theme “BRICS: Stronger partnership for a brighter future.”

The BRICS Summit‘s main venue will be the Xiamen international conference and exhibition centre.
