Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited has contributed highly for extending telecommunication services to rural India through its various services like CDMA, 2G, 3G, 4G and many other consumer friendly initiatives said University of Mysore VC Prof. K S Rangappa here on Friday.
He was speaking at the inauguration of three day All India Conference and a seminar on “Role of BSNL in the Telecom Sector of India” organised by United Forum of All India BSNL Executives Association and All India Graduate Engineers and Telecom Officers Association at Senate hall.
Addressing the gathering he said that telecommunication services is a prime factor in fostering the overall development of a country. BSNL, being a leading public service provider has witnessed a sea of changes from past three decades from manual telephoning, wireless to the present day 3G technologies. Through its various affordable services like CDMA, 2G, 3G, at rural places they are looking forward to change the dimension of rural India.
Speaking on ‘Role of BSNL in the Telecom Sector of India’, he said, BSNL contributed 70 percent for extending digital India initiative. Still there is only BSNL network functions in rural area. Providing high-speed broadband services, BSNL playing vital role in the national development.They have updated themselves with the technology. It is a credit Rangappa added.
