Mysuru, June 1:- “To attract more subscribers to go for efficient mobile services, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Mysuru, has planned high speed mobile network in 112 places out of which 70 BTSs will be upgraded from 3G to 3.75G,” said R Mani, Chief General Manager, Karnataka Telecom Circle.
He was addressing a press conference organised at BSNL Training Centre at T K Layout in the city on Friday.
He said, “Karnataka Telecom Circle provides telecom services spread over 347 cities and towns and 21,992 villages in the state with 10.5 lakh landline and 3.2 lakh broadband connections. 72 lakh mobile connections and 21,200 leased lines are working. Apart from this 42,358 high speed broad band connections on FTTH are also working. Similarly Mysuru Telecom District (MTD) is having nearly 2,200 RKMs of optical fibre cable spread across Mysuru SSA to increase the customer reach.”
“Further we have planned to lay 700 km access of OFC cable and fibre will be extended to door step of the customer so that any service including high speed internet will be provided to the customer on demand. Now MTD is almost ready to extend the FTTH connection to any customer who required high speed internet. Similarly to increase subscribers in mobile services, BSNL Mysuru has planned high speed mobile network and in addition they have planned to deploy 32BTS to improve the coverage. With increased quality bandwidth access in remote and rural places, BSNL is helping to reduce the digital divide. Information highways will not only reach every village but every dwelling units in Mysuru,” he added.
