BSP activists stage protest in Mysuru; demand resignation of Karnataka MPs

Mysuru, October 5:- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) activists of Mysuru district unit staged protest on Saturday here, demanding the resignation of Members of Parliament from Karnataka who have allegedly failed to secure adequate flood relief funds for the affected people and dismissal of the state government.

The protesters who gathered in front of the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office here, said that the people of 103 taluks of 22 districts in Karnataka have been affected by floods and landslides. The rains and floods had devastated North Karnataka region. The protesters said that the state and central government has not announced any compensation for the reconstruction of flood affected areas.

They said that the Ministers KS Eshwarappa, Madhuswamy, Lok Sabha members Pratap Simha and Tejasvi Surya who should have offered assistance to the flood affected people have instead been arrogant in their approach. The activists said that the state government which has not come forward to help the flood affected people has no moral right to continue in power.
