Prime News, Karnataka, Politics, Health, Disease, Mysuru, July 22:- Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s achievement in the last two years is that he has only increased the state’s loan burden and nothing else. He has also failed to control the post-Covid situation in the state, said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesman M Lakshman here on Thursday (July 22).
Talking to reporters at Indira Congress Bhavan on JLB Road here, Lakshman said, “Thousands of jobs have been lost and many industries have closed. As a result, we have lost crores of rupees. The performance of the state government is below par to say the least.”
The Congress leader opined, “The Lingayat community has done a mistake by supporting the BJP. Congress is a secular party and the Lingayats should support us in the future. Yediyurappa is corrupt and he is supposed to say what his government has done in the last two years. Around the same time, we will also release a list to highlight their failures.”
Lakshman said, “The BJP government has looted Rs 30,000 crore ever since it came to power and has borrowed Rs 2,20,000 crore as loan. This is what their achievement is.”
Reacting to Congress leader Shamanuru Shivashanarappa and M B Patil coming in support of Yediyurappa, he said, “It is their personal opinion and it has nothing to do with the party. Shivashankarappa is All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha’s president and his statement should be taken in that context. BJP MLC A H Vishwanath has repeatedly criticised Yediyurappa and his family.”
Congress city president R Murthy and Congress leader Chandrashekar and others were present. (MR/KS)
