BSY will continue to be our Chief Minister: Housing Minister V Somanna

Somanna lauds Suttur Mutt for offering free education to orphaned children during the pandemic

Prime News, Karnataka, Health, Disease, Education, Politics, Mysuru, June 12:- Housing Minister and Kodagu District In-charge Minister V Somanna called on Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji at Suttur Mutt here on Saturday morning and took his blessings.

Speaking to the media after meeting the seer, the minister said, “The second wave of the coronavirus has claimed many lives. Many families have lost their near and dear ones. Scores of children have also been orphaned. Considering their plight, the Suttur Mutt has come forward to offer free education to such orphaned children.”

Somanna said, “Suttur Mutt is also known for offering free education and food to poor children. It is a beacon of light in the old Mysuru region. Suttur Mutt has also converted many of its convention centres and hostels into Covid care centres. We should appreciate their social concern.”

Reacting to the reported news that there is going to be a change of guard in the state, he said, “I don’t know anything about Tourism Minister C P Yogeshwara going to Delhi. I can’t keep track of who is going where. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa is our head and he will continue to be so. If someone is going to Delhi, it is better if you ask him why he is going. I am only bothered about my work and nothing else.”

He added, “We have a major task of controlling the coronavirus cases in the state and such developments are not good in the interest of the state. The party high command is watching what is happening in the state and it will definitely put a full stop to the rebellion.” (MR, KS)
