Car rams into auto, bike leaving five injured

Young students who drove the car was found to be in an inebriated state

 Five persons-an autorickshaw driver it’s passengers and two bikers were injured and four vehicles were damaged after being hit by a car. Witnesses said that the driver lost control at Government Press Signal on SJCE Road at 5.30 pm on Wednesday. 

Police identified the driver as Ruthwik (21) a student of SJCE and a resident of K R Mohalla. Police said that there were two persons in the car and the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The victims were at the signal when the car rammed into them. The impact was such that the auto turned turtle and the passengers were flung out of the vehicle, the witnesses said. The auto driver and bikers suffered injuries while the passengers escaped relatively unharmed.

The auto driver is being treated for head injuries. The two bikers sustained fractures. The others were admitted to a private hospital and are said to be out of danger. A case has been registered with the Kuvempunagar traffic police station and the car has been seized.
