Over 3000 students took part at the Career Development Fair 2016 held as part of the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Swamiji organised by Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering in association with CII- Yi at college premises on Saturday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Chairman of CII, Mysuru zone Dr N Muttukumar said that key to a successful career is dedication and hard work. “Most of the students suffer from lack of guidance after completing their courses. Such education and career fair are thus helpful for such students as they guide them o n selecting a proper course in future,” he said adding that guidance is foremost in any field to lead one in the right path. He lauded the activities of SJCE in taking up such initiatives frequently and helping the students.
Dr B G Sangameshwara, Director JSS MVP, expressed his delight regarding the fact that 6 start-ups and 26 major industries took part in the fair today. He reminisced over how life has come a full circle with people encouraging students to start their own companies.
The career development fair also educated students on higher studies opportunities in foreign countries and other add-on courses for students to be competitive in the current job environment.
Dr Syed Shakeeb Ur Rahman, Principal of SJCE mentioned that this event was the best way to celebrate the centenary of Sir Rajendra Swamiji and promised more such fairs in future from SJCE.
YI chair Ramya Bopanna; Placement Officer of SJCE Pradeep Manjunath and others were present.
Students from all branches of First grade, B.E, MBA, and Diploma made the best use of the event.
