CM Siddaramaiah to inaugurate 125th year celebrations of Mysuru Zoo on Aug 10

Mysuru, August 8:- “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the 125th year celebrations of Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens at Ittigegudu in the city on August 10 at 3 pm. He will also christen the newborn elephant calf,” said Mallige Veeresh, chairperson of Zoo Authority of Karnataka, at a press meet held at her office today.

“Vanaranga Mandir inauguration, convention of executives, convention of veterinary doctors, educational activities, zoo outreach programme, in reach programme, workshops and other activities will be held,” she said.

“Mysuru zoo will adopt the Gadag zoo at a cost of Rs 1.25 crore. The zoo in Mysuru is earning about Rs 35 lakh income in animal adoption. We expect Rs 40 lakh income through adoption programme this year. A tourist hub will be created for the visitors,” Mallige Veeresh added.

Executive director of the zoo C Ravishankar and former Mysuru zoo director B P Ravi were present.
