Mysuru, November 25:- “Indian women have a special place in the world. But portraying them as commodities in movies should be condemned. This will have a negative impact on our culture and tradition,” said cine actor Huccha Venkat (Venkataram Laxman) at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club in the city on Saturday.
“Women are portrayed in film item songs and ugly scenes. I will fight against it. Such scenes have made it impossible for family members to sit together and watch a movie. The censor board should ban such songs and scenes in fims,” he added.
“I oppose the release of movie ‘Padmavati’ which portrays Padmavati in other ways. I condemn the behaviour of actor Deepika Padukone,” he added.
“My fourth movie ‘Thikla Huccha Venkat’ will be released in March or April next year. Two lead actresses from Karnataka and Hyderabad have acted in the cinema. I have performed the role of a pourakarmika. Kannadigas have welcomed the songs of the movie,” he added.
