Centre slammed for rejecting Narayana Guru and Netaji tableau for R-Day parade

Mysuru: Karnataka Hindulida Vargala Jagruthi Vedike on Tuesday (January 18) staged a protest against the Centre’s decision to reject the Kerala government’s proposed tableau on the social reformer Narayana Guru and West Bengal’s proposed tableau on Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and his Indian National Army for the 2022 Republic Day parade without providing any reason.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vedike president KS Shivaramu said, “Bose was a freedom fighter and our national hero who fought and died for our country. The legacy of the national hero is disrespected and exploited by the Centre and PM Modi for political purposes by rejecting the tableau proposal.”
He added, “Modi, called as the protector of Hindu community, rejecting the social reformer Narayana Guru tableau is a shameful act. He must immediately create an opportunity for displaying both the tableau during the Republic Day parade. If he fails to do this, we will urge the people to cast votes against BJP and PM Modi in the upcoming five state assembly elections.”
The district Kumbara organisation president HS Prakash, district Savitha Samaja president NR Nagesh; Leaders Lokesh Kumar Maadapura, Mahendra Kaginele, SR Ravikumar, Rohith and others were present. (AM/SH)
