Chamaraja Wadiyar remembered on his birth anniversary

Mysuru, February 22:- Floral tributes were paid to the idol of Chamaraja Wadiyar as a part of his 156th birth anniversary here on Friday.

The event was organised by Chintakara Chavadi on Friday. Titular king of Mysuru, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar paid floral tributes and said Chamaraja Wadiyar started the development of Mysuru during his ruling.

He said that Chamaraja Wadiyar started Kannada school for women’s education and a model assembly of representatives. Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Chikka Gadiyara, agriculture bank and insurance for government employees are some of the initiatives started by Chamaraja Wadiyar.

President of the Chavadi Kemparaje Urs, MLA L Nagendra, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath and others were present. (MR/KS).
