Chamundeshwari BJP unit pays tributes to Prof KS Nissar Ahmed

Mysuru, May 4:- Chamundeshwari Constituency BJP unit and Sharadadevi Nagar Hitarakshana Vedike paid tributes to renowned poet, Prof K S Nissar Ahmed who passed away on Sunday (May 3). The members held a poster of Nissar Ahmed at Sharada Devi Park and paid tributes to the poet.

“Prof Nissar Ahmed is loved by all because of his Nithyotsava poem. He has contributed Kannada literature with rich write-ups. He stayed away from the borders of caste and religion and remained as a great poet,” said District Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Dr Y D Rajanna.

“He has written 21 poetry collections, 14 thoughtful works, 5 children’s literature, 13 edited works. He was made the president of Kannada Sahitya Sanmelana as well. He received Kendra Sahitya Academy award, Karnataka Sahitya Academy award, Rajyothsava Award and other awards as well,” he added.

“Kannada literature has lost gem of a writer. Kannada literature has become poor with his demise. May God give peace to his soul. May he be born again in this soil again,” said B M Raghu.

Revanna, Lakshmidevi, HG Rajamani, Girish Dattagalli, Vijay Manjunath, Nagaraj, Shashikant, Shubha Shree and others were present. (MR/KS)
