Chandan Shetty and Niveditha Gowda shouldn’t have misused Yuva Dasara stage: V Somanna

Mysuru, October 5:- “Rapper Chandan Shetty and Niveditha Gowda getting engaged on the stage of Yuva Dasara is an unpardonable mistake. Such thing shouldn’t have happened on a stage related to the goddess of the land, Chamundeshwari during Dasara festival,” said District in-charge Minister V Somanna.

He was speaking to media after inaugurating ‘Hasiru Santhe’ event on Krisha Raja Boulevard Road here on Saturday.

“Dasara subcommittee is not responsible for it. Superintendent of Police and working president of the Yuva Dasara subcommittee CB Rishyanth will take proper action on this,” he said.

“Notice will be given to Chandan and Niveditha seeking an explanation. Those who are guilty will be punished,” he said.

“I thought Chandan is a well-cultured gentleman. He is a resident of my constituency, Nagarabavi. What he has done on the stage of Dasara was cheap. That stage shouldn’t have been misused like that. I was present at the Yuva Dasara event and I had to go to the Mysuru Palace premises for another programme. Chandan and his parents asked me to stay for some time. But I had to go. Later, I got the report as what had happened there,” the minister said. (MR/KS)
