Mysuru, February 9:- Have you ever seen people paying their electricity bills on the footpath? It may sound strange but it is true. You may be wondering if our electricity board has made headway in the public system, definitely not, it is the plight of CESCom (Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited).
In every other area in the city, people pay their electricity bills at the designated office of CESCom. Or a vending machine is kept where the people can pay. But at Agrahara Circle, people don’t go to any office to pay their electricity bills but on the road itself! Every Thursday, employees of CESCom sit on the footpath and collect electricity bills from customers. They are not complaining
Our Power Minister D K Shivakumar boasts of his department’s progress but in Mysuru’s Agrahara, the situation is different. Collecting electricity bills on the footpath is the least anyone expects. Though a government building remains empty, it is not being utilised. People have requested the department to function at the building, but no action has been taken so far. (MR/KS).
