Commissioner of Police B Dayananda flags off the rally from Palace Anjaneya Temple
An Awareness Rally on human trafficking, child abuse, child labour and many unlawful act practices violating child rights were explained to children as part of International Child Helpline Day celebrations, in the city on Tuesday. Child right experts explained about the services provided under ‘Child Line Service’ 1098, a toll-free number for availing round-the-clock service on protection of child rights. Mysuru Police Commissioner B Dayananda flagged off the rally. Hundreds of children from slums areas in Kyathamaranahalli, Gandhinagar, Kumbarakoppal, Manjunathnagar, MH Palya, Shanthinagar, Kalyanagiri, Kurimandi, Saathgalli and other areas participated in the awareness rally. The cycle rally commenced from Palace Anjaneya Temple and culminated at Kalamandir on Hunsur Road.
The programme was organised by Rural Literacy and Health Programme under the aegis of Department of Women and Child Welfare. District Child Protection Committee president Padma, Child welfare committee president Shiela Khare, RLHP director Saraswathi, Women and child welfare department deputy director Radha, child special police unit senior ACP C Gopal and Rangayana director H Janardhan were president.
