Mysuru, January 24:- Chithpavana Brahmin Association is organising a state-level convention of Chithpavana women, in association with Chithpavana Samaja at Sri Vidyashankara Nilaya convention centre at Khille Mohalla on January 26, said Vijaya Vishnu Bhat Dongre of the association at a press meet at Mysuru press club on Tuesday.
“Senior advocate Meera Narahari Phadke will inaugurate the convention at 9 am on January 26. Dr Jyothi Shankar, Prof of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) will deliver a special lecture. A book by Dr Madhura Mukunda Marathe will be released on the occasion. Seminars on Chithpavana women, history, heritage, present, self-employment and others will be held. Traditional practices of the community will be exhibited,” she said.
“The valedictory session of the event will be held at 4:30 pm. Vidya Sandesh Dhongre, Bharatanatyam artist Dr Vidushi Kripa Phadke, Sumana Joshi, Vijaya Vishnu Bhat Dongre, Gowri Damle and others will be present. Chithpavana women who have achieved in various fields will be feted,” Veena B Dongre said.
Shobha S Hebbar, Geetha, Yamuna Marathi, Dr Kripa Phadke and others were present. (MR/KMR).
