Encouraging the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Start-up India’ initiatives, Young Indians (Yi) Emerge organisation of the Confederation of Indian Industry Mysuru chapter, organised ‘Velocity: Starting-up in Mysuru’, an initiative to set up an ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation in the city recently. The meet had about 35 Mysuru based start-ups sharing their start-up journeys, opportunities and challenges in Mysuru.
Funding, government support, mentorship, manpower were some of the challenges faced by these start-ups were also discussed during the meet. Many of the start-ups are based on new ideas in heritage, tourism, education, ad-advertising, digital marketing, entertainment and hospitality. The Yi emerge team collected inputs from the start-ups on what challenges they were facing, and what support they needed from Emerge.
