Citizens plant saplings on MG Road potholes in Mysuru

Mysuru, May 18:- The citizens expressed their anger against the officials of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) for their alleged negligence in not asphalting the roads as the monsoon is nearing. They filled the potholes with soil and stones and planting saplings. The protest was held from Agrahara Circle to MG Road near JSS Hospital in the city on Saturday.

“MCC completed the laying of drinking water pipelines, but has not filled the potholes. Vehicles users are have been facing inconvenience due to the potholes. The MCC has ignored several complaints filed by people. Even the patients who are being taken to JSS Hospital on ambulance are facing trouble. MCC officials should immediately get the road asphalted,” said a resident Lakshman.

“Contractors take up tender to construct roads by quoting low price. These roads do not last long in monsoon and thus lead to accidents,” alleged former corporator M D Parthasarathy.

The residents of the locality D K Nagabhushan, Paper Manju, Nagesh, Yogesh, Nagaraj, Santhosh, Srinivas and others were present. (SH, NGB)
