JCTU calls for ‘India bandh’ on January 8

Mysuru, December 27:- Joint Committee of Trade Unions (JCTU) has called for ‘India bandh’ on January 8 over various demands including the protection of rights of the working class.

“We will demand a minimum salary of Rs 21,000 nationwide, implementation of labour rights, a minimum pension of Rs 10,000, controlling price hike, stopping the policies hindering financial growth and other demands,” said district secretary of AITUC Jayaram at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club.

“We will appeal for equal pay for equal work, permanent employment for tender holders, waiver of loans, prevention of farmers suicide, opposing privatisation of public sector units and FDI in public sector industries and in the railways,” he added.
