Mysuru, November 9:- Mysuru city unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest at Gandhi Square here on Friday as part of statewide protests, opposing Tipu Jayanti being organised by the state government tomorrow.
“Tipu was a tyrant. How right is it to observe his birth anniversary, while the entire state is opposing the event? It is being organised for the sake of votes. Is Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy ready to observe anybody’s birthday for votes? Tipu Sultan demolished hundreds of temples and hurt the sentiments of Hindus. Is Tipu Jayanti a necessity?” asked BJP spokesperson and former MLC Go Madhusudana.
