City police solve three-month-old murder case

A youth, who was trying to sell a scooter, was caught by the police and upon interrogation, he revealed the information regarding a three-month-old murder case in the city.

Udayagiri police officials on Wednesday arrested the youth who was trying to sell a scooter at throw away price. When he was interrogated further, a three month old murder case came to limelight. Based on the information given by Cheluvaraja, Jayalakshmi was arrested who is said to have allegedly murdered Mahesh three months back.

Jayalakshmi and Mahesh worked together as cooks at a school canteen and had an affair. It is alleged that Mahesh was pleading for money and later threatened her that he would reveal their illicit relationship if he is not paid. Angered by this, Jayalakshmi murdered him and threw his body in Varuna Canal. A missing case was filed by Mahesh’s family at Kuvempunagar police station. Cheluvaraja, a close aide of Jayalashmi was trying to sell a scooter belonging to Mahesh. Now with the arrest of Cheluvaraja, city cops have managed to solve a three-month-old murder case.
