City receives 12 mm rainfall; expect more showers till May 10

Friday evening showers brought the much-needed relief from summer. And the good news is that it will rain for a couple of more days. It rained about 12.1 mm on Friday.

The rain that began around 5 pm covered most parts of the city and several areas in­cluding parts of Vijayanagar went without power.

Unexpected showers caught the evening crowd unawares and several roads in and around K R Circle, Devaraja Market, Ane Sa­rot Road and the Sayyaji Rao Road were flooded and two-wheelers and pedestri­ans had a tough time in navi­gating through water.

The Indian Metrological Department has predicted light to heavy rainfall accom­panied by thunder and light­ning from May 5 to 10.

The Organic Farming Research Station in Naga­nahalli, which puts out the agro-advisory bulletin for Mysuru districts indicated that the district would re­ceive light to moderate rain­fall from May 7 to 10.

The day temperature is expected to be 34 to 35 de­grees Celsius and night tem­perature is expected to be 20 to 21 degree Celsius.

The relative humidity in the morning hours is expect­ed to be 73-83 per cent and afternoon relative humidity is expected to be in the range 44 to 69 per cent. Wind speed expected to be 0-4 ki­lometres per hour
