Children welcomed at primary schools with festive look in Mysuru city

Prime News, Karnataka, Education, Children, Mysuru, October 25:- The Karnataka government has given permission to the reopening of Classes from 1st standard to 5th standard from today (October 25). However, the school management should strictly adhere to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the Department of Primary and Secondary Education.

It has been more than a year since the schools and colleges were shut due to the pandemic. Most primary schools in the city wore a festive look with the children making their way to their classrooms enthusiastically.

The online classes must have come as routine stuff for the youngsters. With the schools reopening, children are eager to attend their physical classes along with their classmates. That they were confined to the four walls of their homes is a thing of the past now.

The Department of Education has given standing instructions to be followed by the schools. All the schools gave a warm welcome to the students in the morning, but not before cleaning the entire premises.

Mysuru district has 2,580 schools with 1.98 lakh students and 1,2782 teachers. Beginning today till Saturday, classes will be held from 10 am to 1.30 pm. From November 2, classes will be held from 10 am to 4 pm. In each class, only 20 students will be allowed to  sit. If there are more students, classes will be held in two batches.

Students have been advised to get permission letters from their parents. Teachers who have taken both doses of the coronavirus vaccine are permitted to take classes. (MR/KS)
