Cleanliness drive launched at Yureka-2016

Cleanliness campaign as a part of the Yureka- 2016- the annual science fest of Yuvaraja’s College was launched on Thursday.

The programme was launched by Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner Dr C G Betsurmath. Addressing the gathering he said, “Mysuru has topped in Swachh Bharath ranking and is awarded with the cleanest city of India tag from past two years.

Principal Prof H Nanjegowda, Administrative Officer Dr R Ganesh, Controller of Examinations Dr S N Hegde, Convenor, Jnanavahini Dr H N Kanthalakshmi and others were present.

The Swachh Bharath initiative was taken in 2014 on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi and the programme is aimed to see a clean India by 2019 October 2. Cleanliness must start from our self; if we are clean our surroundings will also be clean and hygienic.”

“In the coming days it’s our duty and responsibility to work more intensively towards this campaign and make this resolution a historical one” he added.

Later the surroundings and campus of Yuvaraja’s College was cleaned by the lectures and students of the college.
