Cancel licence of shops violating Covid guidelines: MLA GT Devegowda

Former minister GT Devegowda visits Covid care centre in Doddakanya village, inspects facilities

Prime News, Karnataka, Health, Disease, Trade, Mysuru, May 24:- In the backdrop of a spike in coronavirus cases in rural areas o the district and the state, Janata Dal (Secular) MLA from Chamundeshwari Constituency, G T Devegowda on Monday (May 24) visited Covid care centre in Doddakanya village to gather first-hand information.

Later, he spoke to ASHA workers and said, “They need to visit all the houses and follow all the Covid guidelines. They should be fully equipped before they visit houses.”

When ASHA workers complained to the former minister that many of the shops are open beyond the stipulated time, he pulled up the PDO.

Devegowda said, “A PDO should be like a circle inspector or a sub-inspector. If any shop is found to violate the rules, cancel their licence. The stipulated time is between 6 am and 10 am and all the shops should stick to the timings. If the shop owner’s try to play truant, report to the nearest police station. Distribute work among yourselves so that there is no burden. Cops, PDO and other officials should do their work diligently.”
