CM Basavaraj Bommai looks promising, says BJP MLC AH Vishwanath

MP Pratap Simha alone can’t take credit for the 10-lane national highway between Mysuru and Bengaluru, says Vishwanath

Prime News, Karnataka, Politics, Infrastructure, Mysuru, September 6:- Responding to Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah’s statement that Chief Minister  Basavaraj Bommai would lead the party campaign in the next state Assembly elections, party MLC A H Vishwanath on Monday (September 6) said, “Under B S Yediyurappa, the state government was family-centric whereas Bommai government is proactive.”

Vishwanath said, “After the portfolios are distributed, it is the duty of the Chief Minister to oversee how they function. Bommai has made a good beginning and seems to be promising. The reaction from the people of Karnataka to Bommai’s governance has been good. The Chief Minister is working independently.”

The MLC said, “Developments should be the mantra and I have a lot of hopes in Bommai to deliver goods. He seems to be a strong leader.”

On the probe against Janata Dal (Secular) MLA Sa Ra Mahesh’s land encroachment charges, the BJP leader said, “A resurvey has been ordered and the truth will come out. If Mahesh thinks he is clean, why should he be scared? The earlier survey was not right and I had mentioned it. We all know how the survey report was given.”

On District Minister S T Somashekar’s statement, Vishwanath said, “He should not have issued a statement at this juncture. The officials have been advised to give a report and we can’t oppose it.”

Reacting to the 10-lane national highway between Mysuru and Bengaluru, he said, “Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha should know what he is talking about. He might claim that it was he who built Mysuru. There are many people who have worked for the project and Simha alone can’t take credit for it.” (MR/KS)
