Mysuru, June 4:- The first ever city wide public bicycle sharing project Trin Trin was inaugurated at Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar circle by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday morning. He himself peddled the cycle to inaugurate the scheme.
“The cultural city is having the first public bicycle sharing project in the nation. I have been riding bicycle while studying here in the city during 1961. Mysuru is a beautiful city. There are 600 cities in the world having public sharing bicycle system. To bring down the air pollution, we should use nature friendly vehicles. I used to go to my village which is 20 km away from Mysuru by bicycle on every Saturday. We had a rally cycle at home and people were coming home to see the cycle. We are planning to implement this scheme even in Bengaluru. District in-Charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, MLA M K Somashekar, Mayor M J Ravi Kumar and others were present. (SN, RV)
