CM Kumaraswamy, HD Deve Gowda to be feted by Brahmana Mahasabha

180 meritorious students to be awarded scholarships on September 1

Mysuru, August 29:- “Sandhya Suraksha Trust, District Brahmana Mahasabha and other organisations are jointly organising felicitation for talented Brahmin students on September 1 at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall at 2 pm,” said president of District Brahmana Mahasabha Dr B R Nataraja Jois at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Wednesday.

“Minister for Higher Education G T Devegowda will inaugurate the programme. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundu Rao, Janata Dal (Secular) state president Adagooru H Vishwanath, Tourism and Sericulture Minister Sa Ra Mahesh will be present. Journalist Ravi Hegde will interact with the students,” he said.

“Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and former prime minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda will be felicitated on the occasion for establishing a development board for the Brahmin community,” he added.

“Senior vice president of Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha B V Manjunath will preside over the event. Dr G Ravi of Siri TV channel will distribute scholarship awards to students. More than 300 students have applied for the scholarships. 180 students have been selected from various sections for the scholarship. A musical event will be presented by Kiragasuru Purushotham after the programme,” he added.
