Mysuru, May 30:- Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the much awaited scheme of filling 150 lakes of taluk on Wednesday.
Due to the schemes implemented by MLA K Venkatesh, half of the Periyapattana taluk is not having water scarcity. But the remaining parts of the taluk are lacking water in summer. Understanding the plight of the 150 lakes in the taluk, MLA Venkatesh pressurized CM to implement the scheme to fill in the lakes of the taluk. The project has been given a tender of Rs 295 crore and will be inaugurated on Wednesday.
The Cauvery river water from Mulusoge village will be supplied to the lakes in the taluk. The project requires 0.828 TMC water and the same has been permitted.
“The long awaited demand of the farmers and the public has been fulfilled. The Siddaramaiah government is flagging off the project. Various schemes worth Rs 200 crore will be inaugurated. I request everyone to take part in the event irrespective of the political party,” said MLA Venkatesh.
