CM Yediyurappa directs Mysuru DC to save Maharani NTM Govt Kannada School

Mysuru, October 14:- Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa in a letter addressed to the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, has directed the administration that the proposed construction of Swami Vivekananda Memorial should in no way disturb the Maharani NTM Government Kannada Higher Primary School on Narayan Shastry Road in the city. The government school has been in existence for over 100 years.

It may be recalled that Swami Vivekananda had stayed at the construction site during his visit to Mysuru in the 1880s.

President of Zilla Kayaka Samajagala Okkootada Adhyaksha KC Puttasidda Shetty, historian Prof PV Nanjaraje Urs, Nandish Urs and others have requested the chief minister to protect the school. (KS, NGB)
