CogNIEscience 2016 attracts participants from across India

CogNlEscience 2016″, a Na­tional level technical paper presentation contest was or­ganised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the National Institute of Engi­neering (NIE), Mysuru. It was inaugurated by A Raghunath, Assistant General Manager (manufacturing), BEML, My­suru, on Saturday.

Speaking at the inaugu­ration, A Raghunath advised the students “to take risk and choose the job which they are passionate about.” He also appreciated the efforts of young faculties of NIE in or­ganising the event.

NIE Managing Committee Director, S L Ramachandra, who presided over the func­tion stressed the importance of mechanised farming in agri­cultural sector to increase the yield in farming. Dr Suresha B, Dean R&D, NIE, released the CD of CogNlEscience 2016. He also outlined the research facilities and center of excel­lences that are available at NIE and about the importance of automation and technology in agriculture. CogNlEscience 2016 attracted about 70 technical papers from engineering students all over Karnataka as well as neighbouring states. Karthik Adappa and Kartheek A of NIE, won the best paper awards.
