Mysuru, March 1:- Fun marks this festival. Holi festival, which is largely celebrated in North India, is also making its mark in the heritage city. College students of the city celebrated the festival on Thursday.
The major part of the festival, Kamadahan will be held during the auspicious time after 7:40 pm in the evening.
The festival of Holi celebrates the advent of spring. People smear colours on each other’s faces and indulge in a feast celebrating a plentiful harvest. This year, Holi will be celebrated on March 1 and 2, on the full moon during the month of Phalgun. The first day is also called Chhoti Holi or Holika Dahan, while day two is Rang Panchami or Dhulivandan. -(MR).
