Colourful procession marks 392nd Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti

Mysuru, February 19:- A colourful procession was taken out in the city on Tuesday to mark 392nd Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti.

The procession was held from the premises of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple and passed through K R Circle, Devaraja Urs Road and culminated at Kalamandir on Vinoba Road.

The procession featured the portrait of Shivaji on a decorated chariot. Various art forms participated in the procession. A person wearing the costume of Shivaji was seen riding a horse and the children were dressed as jawans of the Indian Army.

“Today is Bharata Purnima and a special occasion. I am privileged to be a part of Shivaji jayanti,” said former minister C H Vijayashankar.

Former MLA Maruthi Rao Pawar, K Srinivas Rao Shindhe, Chandra Rao Kavale, president of the Jayanthyothsava Committee N Gopal Rao Jadhav, KKMC president Keshavanath Rao Jadhav, Jnanaprakasha Rao Pawar and others were present. (KS, NGB)
