Mysuru, February 1:- A colourful procession was taken out to mark the Madiwala Machideva Jayanti celebrations in the city on Thursday.
The portrait of Madiwala Machideva was carried on a silver coated chariot decked up with flowers. Various folk teams exhibited their skills by presenting folk dances on the busy Devaraj Urs Road.
The Madiwala Machideva Jayanthotsava-2018 organised by the District Administration in association with Kannada and Culture Department and Madiwala Machideva Jayanthotsava Samithi, Mysuru, saw a huge turnout of community members at the procession held in the city.
The procession which started from the Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple passed through Devaraja Urs Road and culminated at the Jaganmohan Palace here. A stage programme was held at the venue.
Several leaders of the community including Mysuru District Madiwala Association president M Raju and others were present. -(HN, KK)
