Columbia Asia Hospital celebrates International Nurses’ Day

Mysuru, May 15:- To commemorate International Nurses’ Day, Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysuru, honoured nurses and its supporting staffs with various programmes which included the presentation of awards.

Marking the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, International Nurses’ Day is celebrated around the world every year on May 12. With nursing being the cutting edge of the healthcare industry today, Columbia Asia Hospital celebrated World Nursing Day to re-enforce all the valuable, selfless contributions nurses make to the society.

Speaking after inaugurating the celebration on Tuesday, Col Rahul Tewari, general manager, Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysuru, said, “No doubt when some patient is in need of care then nurses work tirelessly to identify and protect the needs of the individual. Nurses play an important role in our medical institutions like providing safety or help in the recovery of patients. Nurses also have immense knowledge and have several skills that they spend in an organisation for perfection and development. Most of the time nurses work in a tough environment where extreme stress is part of their job. This celebration is also tribute to the nurses for the role they play in betterment of society by delivering the utmost level of quality care to the patients.”

On the occasion, apart from various programmes, various awards including Brand Chap of the Year, Brand Champ of the Year, Columbia Achiever, Clinical Excellence, Critical Care, Key Contributor Award, Lady in Vogue, Man In Vogue, Team of the Year, Columbia Saviour Award, Best  Supportive Staff ( Nurse Aide), Popular Doctor of the Year and Fresh Face of the Year were presented.
