Committee begins study of water situation

The Central water committee led by G S Jha, president of the committee, visited the state and started analysing the situation at the Cauvery river basin. The analysis started at Maddur.

The technical committee reached Bengaluru on Thursday evening. They held a meeting at the Vidhana Soudha. The committee has started the analysis of water sources from Maddur. The team is expected to visit KRS reservoir by evening at 6 pm by a helicopter.

The team will visit Hemavathi, Kabini, KRS and Harangi dams to study the availability of water in Karnataka. Members of the committee Syed Masood Hussain, Krishna of water resource committee and R K Guptha, chief engineer of Godavari river basin are in the committee.
