Mysuru, July 26:- “The Samudaya Bhavans (community centres) should not only cater to marriages, but also can shape the future of the children by playing the role of a study centre,” said MLA AH Vishwanath.
He was speaking after reviewing the facilities available at Ambedkar Bhavan in Hunsur on Wednesday.
He instructed the officials to provide drinking water facility, toilets, library, canteen, chairs and sound system for the building.
Dalit leader Ningaraj Malladi who is opposed to the restroom of pourakarmikas beside the building, urged the MLA to construct a kitchen in the said site. The MLA apprised Malladi to leave the restroom as it is.
Janata Dal (Secular) leader Intek Raju alleged that the Rotary Club misused the land allotted to them and even the people were angry over it.
Assistant Commissioner Nithish Kumar, TMC Commissioner Shivappa Nayak, City Council president Shivakumar, Social Welfare Department officer Mohan Kumar, RI Somashekar, TMC members Mahadev, Lakshman, Dalit leader Harihara Anandaswamy and others were present. (KS, NGB)
