Members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Mysuru staged a protest in front of DC office on Monday and urged the union and state governments to conduct National Eligibility cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in Kannada.
Members of the vedike stated that all languages of the country must be given equal importance and every language has its own legacy and heritage. “The union government has agreed to conduct NEET in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil and Telugu languages but not Kannada. The Kannada students aspiring to join medical courses have been sidelined with his move. The concerned authorities and the union government must immediately pass an order to conduct NEET in Kannada.” Later, the members of the association submitted a request letter to DC, to be forwarded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
