Mysuru, March 25:- Former Member of Parliament and Congress leader C H Vijayashankar, who is contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha polls as the candidate of coalition parties from Mysuru-Kodagu Constituency, visited Chamundi Hills and offered prayers on Monday morning.
“I visited the temple and sought blessings of the Goddess. I will file my nomination today. Prior to that, I have come to the temple along with my family. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not given even a single ticket to backward communities. BJP needs the votes of Dalits and minorities, but doesn’t do anything for their welfare,” he said while speaking to media persons.
Responding to Janata Dal (Secular) leaders not attending the campaign, he said, “There has been no confirmation on who will be the coalition candidate. Anything can happen in politics. I will attend a meeting with JD(S) leaders in the coming days. I will seek their cooperation. I am meeting Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy,” he added. (MR/KS).
