Congress hits out at Revanna’s anti-Dalit comment

Mysuru, January 1:- Hitting out at PWD Minister H D Revanna’s statement that the Congress is anti-Dalit, the Mysuru unit of the party has said the Janata Dal (Secular) leader’s comment is far from the truth.

At a press conference held at Mysuru Press Club on Monday, party’s spokesman S Rajesh said Revanna should verify the truth before making a statement. “On what basis does he talk about the Congress’ internal matters?” Rajesh asked. The Congress leader said Revanna who holds a responsible position should not make loose statements which do not augur well for him.

“In fact, one should know many important portfolios like Deputy Chief Minister, Social Welfare and Revenue have been allotted to Dalit MLAs. It is JD(S) that has sidelined Dalit leaders and Revanna needs to introspect before commenting. His comment will only harm the coalition government,” Rajesh averred.
