Congress meet on separate manifesto for women: Dr Pushpa Amarnath

Mysuru, December 6:- “Congress is working on preparing its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. A meeting will be held at Rio Meridian Hotel at Tilaknagar on December 8 from 5 pm to 7 pm to serve gender justice in the manifesto,” said the president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Women’s Wing Dr Pushpa B Amarnath at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Thursday.

“Former chief minister Siddaramaiah and I will be present at the meeting. Experts, educationists, party workers and others can take part in the meeting and give their suggestions on women empowerment,” she added.

“Buddha, Basavanna and Dr B R Ambedkar aimed at serving social justice to everyone. Even Congress wants to tread the same path.  Around 50% of the population of the nation are women. They play a major role in electing public representatives. We are planning to give them prominence in the manifesto and therefore this meeting,” she added.
